Right; a tutorial that explains how I use fire in manipulations. Very basic. I haven't added in anything about grounding, lighting... This is just plain and simple how to cut out the flames, put them on your background and some basic blending.

Can't you just put the fire layer on Screen?

You could, but then you're in trouble when it turns out too light and you put it on soft light etc.
I also find it hinders flame shaping and other minor edits. As in when I want to apply a clipping mask and just define the edges of the flame with some lighter tones by painting; if I haven't cut it out it goes all over the place x3
